The red LED preserves night vision, offering high 0.5 lumens and running for 16 hours at 9 candelas, and low 0.2 lumens running for 65 hours at 3 candelas.

The Clipmate is equipped with a push button switch that allows users to cycle through low, high, and off settings. Once a light source is selected, it will remain on until the user presses and holds the button to change the LED light source. The flashlight has a run time of 3.5 hours, and all runtime claims are 10% of the initial lumen output. It fully recharges the battery in 2.5 hours and features a charge indication LED.
